2024 Super Bowl odds: 49ers continue to lead, but why are Cowboys only at No. 5?

Trending 6 months ago

The San Francisco 49ers have become a significant favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII, via BetMGM, after winning their fifth consecutive game with a Week 14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

There’s a new frontrunner in the AFC with the Baltimore Ravens leapfrogging the Kansas City Chiefs for the No. 2 spot. The Ravens have won three games in a row and seven of their last eight games. Kansas City has lost three of its last four games.

The Philadelphia Eagles stand fourth despite losing to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14. The Cowboys and Miami Dolphins sit tied for fifth after Week 14.

Here’s a look at the latest Super Bowl LVIII winner odds:

  • 49ers: +250
  • Ravens: +600
  • Chiefs: +650
  • Eagles: +700
  • Cowboys: +750
  • Dolphins: +750

  • Texans: +8000
  • Broncos: +10000
  • Rams: +10000
  • Falcons: +12500
  • Bengals: +12500
  • Packers: +12500

  • Jets: +100000
  • Titans: +100000

  • Commanders: +150000

Both the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers have been eliminated from playoff contention and therefore, do not have Super Bowl odds.

Cowboys at No. 5?

The Cowboys have moved to No. 2 in the NFC after beating the Eagles. That pushed Philly down to the fifth seed in the playoff hunt. So it’s pretty interesting to find the Eagles still slightly ahead of the Cowboys in the Super Bowl odds. The Eagles’ schedule softens after quite the gauntlet the past five weeks (Cowboys twice, Chiefs, Bills, 49ers). Meanwhile, Dallas has consecutive road games at Buffalo and at Miami, followed by a home game against the Detroit Lions. The Eagles have no one left on the schedule with a winning record. As of now, oddsmakers are saying they assume the Eagles will still win the division.

What about the Bills?

It’s weird to the eye to find the Bills at No. 11 in the AFC playoff picture after their win over the Chiefs in Week 14. But the oddsmakers have the Bills at seventh in these odds. If the Bills heat up in these final four weeks, they’ll be a tough matchup for any team in the AFC playoffs. But their push to make the playoffs won’t be easy with a Week 15 matchup against the Cowboys and a regular-season finale with the Dolphins.
