Liverpool have left behind several first-team regulars for their trip to Belgium ahead of their final Europa League group-stage match against Union Saint-Gilloise.

Captain Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah have not travelled as part of Liverpool’s 23-man squad, while Alexis Mac Allister has also been left behind as he recovers from injury.

Youngsters Tom Hill, Lewis Koumas, Kaide Gordon, Calum Scanlon, James McConnell, Ben Doak, Conor Bradley and Luke Chambers are all included.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have already qualified as group winners, meaning they will avoid the play-off round in February and enter the Europa League knockouts in the last 16.

And they face rivals Manchester United in a crucial game on Sunday as they look to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League.
